2021 IN REVIEW

With COVID once again grounding many aviation events, we were not able to hold the traditional Air Race this year. Instead, the inaugural ARC Air Derby took to the skies in June! With the efforts of many racers and pilots, we connected with over 200 women pilots, making up 90 teams, flying a wide variety of aircraft. Routes were planned in the Bahamas, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States. 17 colleges and universities sent teams to represent their schools. Long time racers and those who haven't had the opportunity to race with the ARC joined in to make this event a success!

Only with your help would this have been possible. With your financial assistance as well as the hundreds of hours spent by our volunteers, we can continue educating and encouraging not only the women pilots of all ages that join us, but also the general public at all of the airports that we visit. Would you consider making a year-end donation to help us continue our efforts? You may also choose to honor someone through a donation in their memory. We will send an acknowledgement to you and the family. Make a donation here: https://www.airraceclassic.org/forms/donations/

SET YOURSELF FREE!

The race is on!  Celebrate!  Feel free again.  Aren't you dying to get out and race with your best friends?nbsp; We need to race. Sign up for the Air Race Classic starting January 3.  There might be a line this year, so be sure to sign up early. In June, we will race from Lakeland, Florida to Terre Haute, Indiana. Plan to join us in Lakeland for the first race since 2019.

December 15 and January 3 - Remember these dates

Keep these dates free to read the rules and register.

Free rules on December 15

Free stuff! Get your free copy of the 2022 Race Rules. Be sure to read them before registration.  The rules will be available from the ARC website: select Get Involved ->Enter the Race->How to Register.

Free to register a racer on January 3

Registration opens on January 3 at 10 AM Eastern. Prepare for registration. It's a process.  Get your paperwork in order. Pilot and team registration requires credentials, per the rules. Pilots and copilots, take some photos together.  You need a photo with the pilot on the left, and show your faces.  It is required to complete team registration, so get it done early. Read the rules (free), register racers (free), register teams (not free), decide about your race number (may be free). The ARC Board will continue to monitor the COVID requirements, but we are looking forward to seeing you in Lakeland!

PICK A NUMBER, ANY NUMBER!

Our wildly popular Race Number reservation program is back for 2022.  What's your lucky number? Any available number can be purchased for five years for a $500 donation to the ARC Endowment Fund or one year for $125.   It's a great way to support the Air Race. Holding a specific race number reserves your position in the Start takeoff lineup. And it is fun to have a race number that is meaningful.  Some Racers keep their race number decal on their plane year round.  It's a great conversation starter at an airport and raises awareness of women's air racing with the public.

You can see which numbers are already reserved and apply today for your favorite number here https://www.airraceclassic.org/purchase-race-number.htm ! Don't delay; do it today!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

As we celebrate the holiday of giving thanks, the Air Race Classic would like to express our sincerest thanks to all of you who support the ARC through time and money. Our sponsors, our volunteers, our racers, all combine to help us continue the legacy started over 90 years ago with the first transcontinental air derby. While words may fall short, we hope we can convey how much we value your support. All the best wishes and hopes to you and your families in this upcoming holiday season.
