Dear Racers, Volunteers, Donors, Sponsors, Fans, and Air Racing Enthusiasts,
Just like all of you, the Air Race Classic has had many joys, sorrows, celebrations and challenges this year, but we look forward to a new and exciting 2021!
In 2020, we held our first virtual Race Camp during race week. We had over 20 students participate via Zoom from around the world! We are planning to expand our online youth events in 2021 to reach a larger audience. Keep an eye out on social media for more information!
In 2020, for only the second time since 1948, the race was not held. And, although the typical race will not be held in 2021, the Board of Directors is busy planning a new flying adventure that will allow more women to participate and experience a bit of history with us. More announcements will be coming shortly!
In lieu of our annual silent auction that is held at the Terminus each year, we moved to an online format in November. Thank you to all the donors and bidders for participating!
Although we had our wings clipped in 2020 we will persevere with an exciting alternative event in 2021 and look forward to seeing each other in person to share the camaraderie that we all experience during the race in 2022.
Our heartfelt thanks to each of you that have helped us carry the tradition of women's air racing for over 90 years! We appreciate and honor each of the many sponsors, racers and volunteers who have donated time and money each year.
