How to Enter the Air Race Classic
How do you enter the Air Race Classic?
Three simple steps:
1. Verify that you have the basic requirements - ARC Rules explain everything fully.
Race Team: consists of Pilot and Copilot. Up to two additional crew members may be included, who can be of valuable assistance as another set of eyes, team time-keeping, additional weather consulting and more. The additional crew ride as passengers. The Pilot and Copilot must both have valid pilot and medical certificates with at least one of them having a current Instrument Rating OR 500 hours PIC. Additional crew members, other than Pilot and Copilot, need to possess at least a Student Medical certificate OR be a certificated pilot (other than Student and current medical is not required).
Aircraft: Includes stock and modified stock airplanes with at least 145 hp and not more than 570 hp.
2. Request a Race Registration Kit online or through regular mail. This kit provides all the registration information and application forms that you need. Details for requesting a Race Registration Kit are explained below.
3. Fill out the appropriate Race Registration Kit forms and submit your Application for Entry. After your application is accepted, ARC will send further instructions, updates and all the information you will need as the race event approaches.

Receive the official Race Registration Kit now by downloading immediately in pdf format from this web site when you apply online. Or if you requested a kit via regular US mail, it will be sent to you via regular US mail. The Race Registration Kit will contain:
- E-1 Air Race Classic Official Race Rules & Regulations
- E-2 General Information - dates, schedule, & race mileage
- E-3 Annual Instructions - Entry information
- E-4 Application for Entry
- E-5A, 5B, 5C Pilot/Co-pilot and Passenger Publicity Forms
- E-6 Airplane Entry Form
- F-1A ARC Sponsor Introductory letter
Completing the Race Applications -- Refer to E-3 Annual Instructions
Once you've received your ARC Race Registration Kit, you need to assemble your application information.
1. Verify that you are using ARC 2009 forms. Entry forms from prior years will not be accepted.
2. Fill out all paperwork completely. Make sure it is neat and legible.
3. All applications must be returned via regular US mail.
4. Fill out all E-4 Applications completely – Pilot signature required. (Return 2 copies.)
6. Fill out E-6 Airplane Entry Form and provide copies of requested documents from the aircraft log books – be sure log books are complete (Return 2 complete sets of all documents.). Previous Racers, please note changes for this year for your airplane entry. Contact airplane@airraceclassic.or to see if your airplane entry paperwork is already on file with the ARC. If so, you may avoid having to resend supporting documentation. All teams need to submit an E-6 Airplane Entry.

Return Race Entry Applications
- Mail completed entry and all copies to ARC address listed on E-2 General Instructions
- Include check for entry fees
